Went to Jupiter to fish with my son. He had set up a trip on one of his clients boat,
1.5 million dollar, 54' Rybovich Express.
$5000 worth of tackle,
$80 worth of bait
Catching my first sail of the season and fishing with my son - priceless

Actually it was a slow day. If anyone told me that we would spend all day flying two kites with 6 goggle eyes under the kites, with the N wind blowing at 15 and perfect conditions, and only come home flying one flag, I'd have told them they were nuts.

There is always one more bottle of BatJuice to be drunk, one more woman to admire, and one more fish to catch before you die! Smile

Amen! I think, though, the price on gogs a little south of there is $100/12, $50/6. Glad you got to run up the one flag. Next trip it'll be multiple. ~~Greg~~

Greg According to my son, the guy they used to buy bait from sunk his boat. There were 2 guys selling as we went out, but both left the inlet and retreated back up the ICW as we approached. One guy stopped and told us he only had enough for his reserved customers. Second guy was returning to hie bait pen to restock and had plenty. Gave us a dozen gog's plus a blue runner for $80. Ran out to the bait spot just north of Jupiter in 35' and caught 4 more runners. We marked them but they sure didn't want to eat.

All total, we had the one sail, 2 small sharks and one mystery bite where we never saw, or even got tight on the fish but the bait was gone. Also lost two baits to kingfish bite-offs when we move in late in the day trying to hook one for the smoker.

Did not hear of too much going on on the radio and only saw 3 or 4 fish being caught by the fleet around us the whole day

Actually when I reached down to cut it loose, it stuck it's bill up and windshield-wipered my knuckles, which bled a little :p

Boat was beautiful, a 2007 built in the classic old Rybo style
