Sunday Fishing Report.. a lotta Bull
#1
on our last day of our 24 day Caribbean cruise we stopped for the 2nd time at Half Moon Cay, Bahamas--Holland Americas private island... it is formerly named Little San Salvador .. and sits 12 miles east of the southern tip of Eleuthera
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=2006...2,1.056747

..went on a 2 hour fishing charter the first time we stopped there on 3/24.... this past Sunday 4/15 we stopped there again ... charter is booked on the ship as Holland owns the island and all of it's tours... have fished there mucho many times in the past...over 3 dozen times.. mostly with Capt Jolly.. a good guy.. he treats me well.. I do likewise..

I was first up of the three fishermen onboard the open center console.. had a quickie knockdown.. no hookup ..then he hit.. took me 20 minutes to land the fat guy according to my buddy the good Capt Jolly...only jumped 2x.. but 'sounded' a lot...largest one I've caught.. surpassing my 41 pounder that I caught off our 32 Luhrs in the mid 90's.. it was the only one I caught that day as I let the other two guys go at it... ain't I a nice guyBig Grin

from Apr 15th....

Seems like you did VERY well for a 2hr charter! Good stuff!
There is always one more bottle of BatJuice to be drunk, one more woman to admire, and one more fish to catch before you die! Smile

With the title, I thought this way going to be a Batbreath story.

Nice Dorado there Ray.

Bryan, I am sure that your day will come. But, we will need pictures that are NOT photo shopped, like the one with the 20lb Halibut.:p
In the first place, God made idiots. That was for practice. Then he made non Fishermen.

yop.. that's all they are.. . 2 hours for the Offshore Fishing trip... sometimes a bit more or if I'm on the last charter and alone with the good Capt Jolly... it becomes a 3 hr one.. been alone a few times out over the years ... it's an older crowd on Holland... fishing is not usually their forte.. which is fine by me

unfortunately we won't be back on Half Moon Cay until 11/29 the very end of our next 42 day Europe cruise..

they used to run a 2.5 hr flats fishing charter in the backwater lagoon .. plenty of bonefish... they stopped running it about 4 years ago... great flyrod fishing walking the flats... Carnival Corp.. the parent of Holland America decided they wanted to make more money by running jet skis back there in the lagoon rather than just a charter or two ... that flopped but they haven't reinstated the flats fishing ...BTW Carnnival Corp owns Holland.. Princess.. Carnival..Costa(ugh)..Cunard..Seabourne and a few other smaller cruiselines

an older pic from the flats Feb 2002

now that most cruise lines have cut back on or completely stopped doing their Mexican Riviera runs that's a bummer for you guys on the west coast... good fishing opportunities on that side... Cabo..Acapulco..PV.. and Puerto Quetzel, Guatemala (the best of the best for Sails)
